Pilot: Mount Carroll, IL

A few weeks ago I travelled north to Mount Carroll for an engagement party hosted by a good friend.  I will act as best man for the ceremony that will take place next September.  A small dog, Stella, who resembles a stuffed animal lives with them.  It was a simple outdoor event with beer, burgers, and an array of bound salads.  Being a chef, I was elected to grill for the crowd of about 60 people.

After a good bit of celebration we relocated to a very quaint bowling alley near the town square.  I met some very interesting people and had a few good beers.  Guinness, that is.

We stayed at a hotel in nearby Savanna where checkout time was 10:00am.  Luckily, we were able to talk them into letting us stay an extra hour.  However, they taxed us an additional $20 for bringing the puppies.

All in all, good times with good people.

(note:  these photos were all taken with my Motorola KRAZR)
